Description

Using the scientific method, critical thinking skills and data analysis, this course will examine the fundamental processes of the Earth system, composed of an atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere, biosphere, and exosphere, through time. The course will also explore interactions between these spheres and how to effectively communicate their importance. Students will evaluate the development and rigor of major scientific theories, analyze and synthesize data, and recognize varying time scales associated with Earth processes. Knowledge gained in this course will be applied to global and local environmental issues, as well as to understanding the complex connections between humans and the Earth system.
