Description
This course surveys the history of Latin America from pre-Columbian times to the present. Topics will include native cultures; European exploration, conquest, and colonization; independence movements; and the political, economic, and social challenges of establishing new Latin American nations. The course will also cover recent trends and U.S.-Latin American relations.
