Description

This course explores African American history from the end of Reconstruction to the present. It gives special attention to how African Americans fought for equality under the law and Black empowerment in a long civil rights movement that continues today. This course also emphasizes the creativity and innovation of African American artists, musicians, and writers while highlighting how their work influenced the fight for Black empowerment and equality and shaped modern American culture.
